CLINTON–Mayor Terry Frank is announcing a board vacancy for a representative from Anderson County to serve on the Mountain Valley Economic Opportunity Authority.

The Authority works alongside the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency to administer Community Service Block Grants. The grants are focused on employment, housing, nutrition, and emergency crisis intervention.

Qualifications and requirements include the following:

*Passionate about alleviating poverty conditions

*Member of a private sector organization, concerned with business, industrial, labor, religious, private welfare, private education, civic, professional, significant minority groups or other community interests. The organization must not have any legal responsibility to perform official public governmental functions and must not receive tax dollars for the cost of their operation.

*Must reside in Anderson County

The nonprofit Mountain Valley Economic Opportunity Authority is comprised of appointees or elected officials from the public sector, private organizations, and low-income representatives across Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Morgan, Scott and Union Counties.
