Judge Donald R. Elledge

Circuit Court is a court of general jurisdiction and a court of record. The Circuit Court Clerk’s office is responsible for managing all records for the Civil and Criminal divisions. The staff is responsible for performing the internal clerical operations for both courts as defined by law.

Donald R. Elledge has served as the Criminal and Circuit Court Judge, Seventh Judicial District, Anderson County, Tennessee, since he was appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen on September 1, 2005, and having been sworn into office on September 6, 2005, by the Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice E. Riley Anderson. A ceremonial swearing-in was conducted by Governor Phil Bredesen on September 28, 2005. Judge Elledge was elected in 2006 to full term and continues to serve.


Judge Elledge is a widower, having been married to the former Kathy Grimes, who died in 1997. He has three daughters, the twins Courtney and Keely, and Christy, and one grandson, Hunter.
