The purpose of the Anderson County Archives is to receive, process, and preserve the non current, permanent records created by the Anderson County, Tennessee Government, from 1811 to the present.
The Anderson County Archives provides records for researching the origins and history of Anderson County, Tennessee. The Archives provide public access to all holdings with the exception of the juvenile records. It provides local government sources material to court officials, genealogists, the legal profession, historians and the general public. The Archives contain documents such as Marriage Bonds, Divorce Records, Probate Records, Wills, Estates, Court Records, Chancery Court Records, Circuit Court Records, and Tax Records in addition to many more records and information.
The Anderson County Archives does charge for copies. For non-certified copies, there is a charge of one dollar for the first page and fifty cents for each additional page, and for certified copies, two dollars for the first page and fifty cents for each additional page.
