CLINTON – Anderson County is advancing plans for a new Claxton Community Park with support from Type One Energy Group, Inc.
The fusion company presented its donation on June 1 to Anderson County Conservation Board officials, the County Mayor, and County Parks Director Ben Taylor.
“We are so thankful for this generous contribution toward the creation of our new Claxton park. Type One Energy’s investment in this project reflects a strong commitment to our community and will provide Anderson County withanother great space for families to gather and play,” Anderson County Conservation Board Chair Denise Palmer said.
Following the closure and demolition of the Kids Palace playground structure, the Anderson County Conservation Boardconducted a survey to gather input from the Claxton community from November 25, 2025, to January 31, 2026. A total of 476 community responses were received that highlighted community needs and preferred amenities and features for a new park.
“We are so appreciative of Type One Energy’s very generous donation. This contribution towards new park amenities will be put to good use enhancing the quality of life for the residents of the Claxton community and Anderson County,” Mayor Terry Frank said.
Type One Energy’s donation joins an earlier $250,000 donation from the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Type One Energy Group is gearing up to begin its operations at the Bull Run Energy Complex, renamed from the Bull Run Fossil Plant. According to its website, Type One Energy’s mission is to provide sustainable, affordable fusion power to the world.
Anderson County’s parks operate under the authority of the Anderson County Conservation Board. The Claxton Community Park is the seventh park in the Anderson County Parks system.
