Judge Ryan M. Spitzer
Circuit Court is a court of general jurisdiction and a court of record. The Circuit Court Clerk’s office is responsible for managing all records for the Civil and Criminal divisions. The staff is responsible for performing the internal clerical operations for both courts as defined by law.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee appointed Ryan Spitzer in August 2021, to serve as Circuit Court Judge for the 7th Judicial District to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of longtime Judge Donald R. Elledge, who served as the Criminal and Circuit Court Judge, Seventh Judicial District, Anderson County, Tennessee, since he was appointed by then-Governor Phil Bredesen in September 2005.
Judge Spitzer formerly served as an Assistant District Attorney General for the 7th Judicial District. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law and Lambuth University.
